What to do if the meter shows an “Er1” error message?

When the meter display screen shows an error message “Er1”, it could mean one of the following:

1.The test strip has been previously used;

2.The test strip has been damaged because of other reasons (exposed to heat, cold, air, moisture, etc.).

Follow the instructions to repeat your glucose test. Take out a new test strip and insert it into meter’s test strip port.

Test strip storage environment:

1.The expiration date (Discard date) is printed on the label of the test strip vial. For example, 2018-07 means the expiration date is July 31, 2018 if vial cap remains unopened.

2.Once the vial cap is opened, the expiry date of the strips will be 3 months after the opening date. For example, if you open a vial on May 31, 2018, you should use or discard the test strips in this vial on/before August 31, 2018.

3.If the printed expiration date (for example July 31, 2018) on the vial comes earlier than 3 months of opening the vial (for example August 31, 2018), discard the test strips in the vial on the expiration date.

4.Close the vial cap immediately after taking a test strip out from a vial. This will avoid the test strips from becoming damped.

5.Store the test strips in the original capped vial at temperatures between 4 to 30 degree Celsius (39 to 86 degree Fahrenheit) and relative humidity below 90%. Do not expose vials to high temperature (direct sun) or low temperature (freeze).

6.Do not split test strips in a vial into different vials. Do not store test strips in anything else but its original capped test strip container.
