How to care for the Bionime Bluetooth Meter and Test Strips?
Glucose Meter Storage and usage environment for:
- Storage temperature should be between -10~60℃ (14~140℉)
- Operating temperature should be between 10~40℃ (50~104℉). When you bring a meter into an environment with a large temperature difference, allow a minimum of 30 minutes for the meter to stabilize to room temperature. For example, allow the meter to rest for 30 minutes when moving it from a hot environment like outside, into a cool indoor space.
- The meter should work at a relative humidity between 10% to 90%
- Inaccurate test results may be obtained if you use the meter at altitudes greater than 10,000 feet (3,048 meter) above sea level.
- If you will not be using the meter for a long period of time, take the battery out of the meter. This will avoid damage to the meter from battery leakage.
- To avoid interference with proper meter performance, do not use the meter in a strong electromagnetic wave environment.
- Place the meter in its black carry case after usage. This will protect the meter from dust, contamination, water and any liquid which may damage the meter.
Test Strip storage environment:
- The expiration date (Discard date) is printed on the label of the test strip vial. For example, 2018-07 means the expiration date is July 31, 2018 if vial cap remains unopened.
- Once the vial cap is opened, the expiry date of the strips will be 3 months after the opening date. For example, if you open a vial on May 31, 2018, you should use or discard the test strips in this vial on/before August 31, 2018.
- If the printed expiration date (for example July 31, 2018) on the vial comes earlier than 3 months of opening the vial (for example August 31, 2018), discard the test strips in the vial on the expiration date.
- Close the vial cap immediately after taking a test strip out from a vial. This will avoid the test strips from becoming damped.
- Store the test strips in the original capped vial at temperatures between 4 to 30 degree Celsius (39 to 86 degree Fahrenheit) and relative humidity below 90%. Do not expose vials to high temperature (direct sun) or low temperature (freeze).
- Do not split test strips in a vial into different vials. Do not store test strips in anything else but its original capped test strip container.
Clean Your Bionime Bluetooth Meter device:
Use a dry tissue or alcohol swab to wipe the external surface of the meter. Wipe around the test strip port to clean out any blood and debris but avoid touching the metal contacts of the test strip port. Let the meter air dry for a minimum of 1 minute.
