Weight Loss Can Aid Your Ailing Heart
Australian researchers tracked 355 overweight or obese participants with an average age of 65. All of the participants had atrial fibrillation, which is a progressive disease that can trigger arrhythmia, stroke, and heart failure. Overall, 30% of the participants had Type 2 diabetes. After four years, an analysis of participants who lost 10% of their body weight showed that 90% of those participants had reduced occurrence of arrhythmia and that 52% had completely reversed their atrial fibrillation.
With the assistance of the medical team and the weight control program, participants also reduced their high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and other risk factors. If your health problem is caused by your body weight, consult a medical team to choose a weight loss program most suitable for you.
